Debbie helped create an atmosphere where our group felt safe. She guided us in a gentle, non judgemental exploration( WHICH I REALLY NEED) that had me incredibly curious about how I move and the impacts of how I move . Everyone left with a new idea of how to take care of themselves that could be easily implemented in to their day whether at work or home.

I always hear Debbie's voice inviting me.... "Is it possible to.......?" or "Where is the thread in...... ?" or "Imagine...."I have learned to feel curious and inspired to take the next step in what was previously a frustrating journey.

Debbie is a powerful ally in regaining the use of my hand(after a severe dog bite). She supports me in relaxing in the midst of pain and fear which arises in the course of my healing while continuing to elicit from me the intention necessary to realize gains in my ability to move my fingers and wrist..Her creative intelligence in recommending movement exercises I carry out on my own, her attuned touch, and her confidence in my ability to heal, have led to gains in the use of my hand which I did not think possible before receiving her help. She is a gift in my healing process.

At 13 months old, my son was unable to crawl. After a few visits, there were radical changes in his ability to find possible ways to organize his body to move, including beginning to get on all fours to start crawling. He did not always enjoy being touched and Deb met him exactly where he was, she did not force him but patiently, artfully found a way in. Deb is insightful and supportive. My son continues to make gains and is almost caught up in his motor skills.

I highly recommend the work of Deb Steinmann. After a session, I felt calm, yet very alert as if I could spring into action at my volition.Deb's work allowed me to relax specific areas where I have chronic pain and return to athletic activities I enjoy. It is a wonderful sensation.

My dog, Rody, fell off a 10' platform a year before treatment and developed a chronic limp in that time. After one session with Debbie, Rody began placing his leg underneath of himself instead of way out to the side. In about 3 months, which included more treatments and me doing things Debbie taught me to do with him, he was not limping and returned to jogging smoothly with his leg under himself like he did before his injury. Debbie was very patient and was able to get our anxious boy to trust her.

I met Deborah Steinmann a few months after I had knee replacement surgery. I was working with a traditional physical therapist to regain flexibility and strength in my new right knee. I worked hard but I was not getting the results I wanted. I began working with Deborah and experienced the remarkable techniques of the Feldenkrais method. Because of this work I found a more fluid gate pattern that opened up new possibilities for healing into my new knee. Deborah came to my home where she taught me how to sit, stand, and walk in my own environment. She analyzed my workouts and stretching routines and made suggestions to improve my progress with traditional physical therapy. Deborah taught me to pause, to breathe and to find new patterns for myself. I had a crazy goal of traveling with friends to Bolivia six months after surgery. The view from the top of the Island of the Sun in the middle of Lake Titicaca was magnificent. The only way I got there was from the whole body knowledge I gained from working with Deborah, who mapped out every step of the way.
Recently, my 12-year old dog, Dudley, was diagnosed with cancer. During his treatment he lost muscle mass and had difficulty walking up stairs. In just a few sessions with Deborah, Dudley could navigate stairs and get up on his favorite sofa all by himself. Now, when Deborah comes to my house to work with me, I have to share her time with Dudley.
